Trigonometry & Polygons

The Trigonometry & Polygons unit extends measurement from dimensions that can be measured directly to those that must be calculated. Learners use proportional reasoning, similar triangles, the Pythagorean theorem, right-triangle trigonometry, and properties of two-dimensional shapes to determine unknown lengths, angles, areas, and other measurements. These ideas are applied to practical situations such as layouts, slopes, stairs, roofs, and other workplace problems.
